The Tower of London and the London itself share an intertwined history. One would simply not have existed without the other. The Tower has been a fortress since 1078. It has served as a armory  Royal Mint and it currently serves as the home to the Crown Jewels. This is a must see on any trip to London.  This iconic attraction is located on the banks of the beautiful Thames River. One could easily spend a day touring this attraction. It is best to pick a day that has nice weather as much of this attraction is outside. If you will not have good weather for your trip to The Tower, be sure to dress accordingly, as we have learned the hard way, shivering through the tour. Also be sure to take a tour with a Yeoman Warder.
