The Southbank Centre is located on the South bank of the Thames river in central London. This is what I would call a mega attraction because there is so much to do here.  The Royal Festaval Hall, Hayward Gallery and The Saison Poetry Library are located there. Multiple art exhibits and theater productions  are located in the Southbank Centre too. You can also eat at one of the many eateries, however be aware that some do require reservations. Also art exhibits require tickets so you will need check the website for more information. There are unique shops to explore too.

If you do not want to do anything in the Southbank Centre itself, you can stroll down the South bank of the Thames on the River walk. It is a wonderful place to go for a stroll. It is nice place to take children as well. As you are walking be sure to stop by the book sellers under the Waterloo Bridge. You can find all sorts of books and old maps. It really is quite charming, and a part of London that most tourists miss out on.
