The National Portrait Gallery is located directly behind the National Gallery, one of London’s art museums. The National Portrait Gallery is set apart because they specialize in displaying portraits. The Gallery has stood on that same sight for almost 120 years. Most of the portraits are of aristocrats and nobles, and once hung in large country houses. The Gallery now houses this impressive collection.

Aside from their usual collection of portraits, the Gallery often has special exhibits. The special exhibits are always worth the trip to go see. One of their more recent exhibits was the unveiling of the Duchess of Cambridge’s Royal portrait. The Gallery has portraits of all sorts of people. I like this Gallery because it does not usually seem to be as busy as some of the other museums in London. I usually make it a point to visit the National Portrait Gallery when I travel to London.
