Fortnum & Mason is one of London’s most prestigious department stores. They specialize in selling luxury goods. However, they are best known for their wonderful foods. One could even say that they are a sort of grocery store to The Royals. The store holds many Royal Warrants, meaning they are the official supplier of that particular good to the Royal Family. While the store is a wonderful tour of opulence the true gem in my opinion is taking afternoon tea in the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon.

Tea is held each afternoon in the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon, which is over 25o years old. It recently underwent a massive renovation, and was reopened by Her Majesty the Queen, accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duchess of Cambridge.  As an honor Fortnum & Mason renamed the St. James Restaurant the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon, in recognition of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. So for your very own chance to take tea like a royal, I high recommend taking afternoon tea at Fortnum & Mason.
