Apsley House located at Hyde Park Corner has the prestigious address of “Number One London.” This historic home belonged to the famed Duke of Wellington. He lived in the home after the battle of Waterloo. Today The House is run by the English Heritage. Today the current Duke of Wellington calls Apsley House home while he is in London.

The house is a museum and an art gallery. There are over 200 paintings in the collection. Many of the pieces were bought by the first  Duke of Wellington. There are also many of the First Duke’s belongings on exhibit as well such as porcelain, and silver, along with furniture and sculptures.

No trip is complete without visiting “Number One London,” This historic landmark is very beautiful and is full of charm and history. The art collection alone is impressive, but you can also learn some British history as you venture through the house.
